Photography - Panning

A few weeks ago we went out with a couple of photographers to learn something new: Panning. This is a technic where you try to shoot a moving object (bicycle, car, ...) keeping the object sharp / in focus, while you blur the background by horizontal movement (panning). Harder than it seems. Just a few shots from that: The woman on the red bicycle pretty much failed, however an interesting little bit of sharpness just between the handle bar and the front wheel. Something to play with (would be hard to do if trying to do on purpose:))

The photo of the Asian guy on the black/red bicycle ended up pretty ok:

The other speed biker clearly not, although it provides opportunity for some post-processing and turn it into a more 'creative' photo:

And then the final one, the Lexus car, also not too sharp, but with some post processing again - I think - turned into an ok photo:
