Almost 3 months ago now we went 'back home' for a holiday of near 4 weeks. Within that 4 weeks we also had week holiday within holiday, staying in Salzburg with our dear friends Peter and Lia.
Finally finished editing all photos (not too bad I think, took just under two months:-)).
Here are some of the shots of the first couple of days.
As we usually do, we were staying with our friends Peter and Lia. The first day after our arrival we had a nice and quite little trip to a nature area around Oisterwijk:
We finished that day with a nice apple pie (made by Peter supported by Ellen:-)). There was a special reason for that applepie to be made as well. Our friend Jeff (living in Perth) was over in the Netherlands for a few days as well. So we invited him over to enjoy a proper Dutch applepie.
That very first week was also brilliant weather, as you can see in the next couple of photos. I also took the opportunity to make a shots of Peter and Lia's garden (of their new home):
Next we visited Den Bosch. Not just because it is a very lovely (old) city, but also because the Jeroen Bosch 'festival' was still going on. (This is the dragon in front of the Central train station in Den Bosch:

We also did a 'under the city' canal trip. We'd never done that before, so with this great weather we had to take that opportunity. The boats being used are electrical powered boats so very quiet an clean:
After the trip we walked to the centre of the city (towards the 'grote Markt'):

The next day we visited Heusden. A small city, however the first city that received the rights to be called a city in the Netherlands (somewhere back in the Middle Ages).
With some time left for the day, we then drove through to Ammerzoden. Again a small city in the neighbourhood of Den Bosch. Special about this city is that (17 years ago) we married in Ammerzoden, in the beautiful Ammerzoden Castle:
